Rifat Ahmed successfully defends his PhD thesis
March 17, 2020
Congratulations to Rifat Ahmed who successfully defended his PhD thesis titled “Shear Wave Elastographic Imaging of Pancreatic Cancer Murine Models.” Rifat's public defense took place via Zoom on Wednesday, March 17, 2020, immediately followed by a closed-door defense session. Rifat has been advised by Professor Marvin Doyley. His PhD committee was chaired by Professor Mark Buckley (Biomedical Engineering); other committee members were Professor Kevin Parker (Electrical & Computer Engineering) and Professor Stephen McAleavey (Biomedical Engineering). Additional kudos to Rifat for navigating one of the first Zoom thesis defenses after the University's Covid-19 shutdown; he handled a challenging situation with professionalism and positivity. Again, many thanks to Rifat for his hard work and significant contributions to Professor Doyley’s Parametric Imaging Research Lab. We wish him well in his new position as a research scientist at Duke University.
