Congratulations to PhD student Sedy Poul and MD/PhD student Gary Ge on their accepted abstracts and presentations at the SPIE BiOS conference which took place in San Francisco, CA from January 22-27, 2022. Part of SPIE Photonics West, BiOS focuses on biomedical optics. 

  • Sedy's presentation and paper, co-authored by Professor Kevin Parker and former PhD student/postdoctoral associate Dr. Juvenal Ormachea (currently with Verasonics, Inc.) was titled "Characterization of viscoelastic media using reverberant shear wave autocorrelation estimator" and was featured in the Medical Imaging: Ultrasonic Imaging and Tomography section of the conference.   • Gary's presentation and paper, co-authored by Dr. Maiken Nedergaard (Center for Translational Neuromedicine), Professor Jannick Rolland (Instistute of Optics) and Professor Kevin Parker was titled "Speckle statistics of cortical brain tissue in optical coherence tomography" and was featured in the Biomedical Applications of Light Scattering portion of the conference.
