We are very happy to share that the patent “System and Method for Attaching Optical Fibers to Chips” by Jaime Cardenas and Juniyali Nauriyal will be issued on April 13, 2021. It is about a novel technique of how to attach an optical fiber to a photonic chip using a laser.

Congratulations to Juniyali for wining the Goldstein Student Innovation Grant! The David G. Goldstein Student Innovation Grant was created to help empower undergraduate and graduate students to pursue innovative ideas in optics, and propel those ideas to realization.
