Abstract

Cross Beam Energy Transfer (CBET) is a simulation that models how intersecting laser beams share energy. In CBET 60 laser beams are launched at a small core to cause an implosion. Each beam is approximated as many thousands of rays and moves through a high resolution 3D space. This project optimizes this simulation for GPU to see a speedup of a factor of 60.
