Overview
Research projects are ongoing across a wide range of topics from acoustics to computer audition. Some of the current research topics include:
- Development of flat panel loudspeakers and spatial audio displays
- Spatial sound recording and reproduction
- Efficient modeling of acoustic systems for feedback and echo cancellation systems
- Audio coherence as a probe of acoustic spaces
- Quantitative evaluation of spatial sound rendering methods and systems
- Machine transcription and notation of polyphonic music
- Automatic music composition
- Audio-video analysis of music performance for source association and multi-timbral transcription
- Sound search by vocal imitation
- Generating "talking face" landmarks from speech waveforms
- Emotion tracking via speech prosody
