Student Awards
Master's Student Awards
The following awards are bestowed annually upon exceptional students in the MS program.
MS Academic Achievement Award (James Fienup): for the MS student with the highest GPA in the first semester of the academic year; to be awarded at the Spring Industrial Associates reception or at an appropriate time decided by the Director of Institute of Optics.
MS Community Leadership Award (Gary Wicks): for the MS student who did the most to bring the MS students together by helping fellow students, etc.; to be awarded at the Spring Industrial Associates reception or at an appropriate time decided by the Director of the Institute of Optics. Winner of the prize will be determined via a vote involving all MS students. The nomination process will be managed by the Director of the Institute of Optics.
MS Laboratory Excellence Award (Per Adamson): for the MS student who did the best independent lab experiment as part of her/his course; to be awarded at the end of the academic year or at an appropriate time decided by the Director of the Institute of Optics. Winner of the prize will be determined by the MS faculty members.
