    The Institute of Optics offers a free, one-week photon camp for rising high school juniors and seniors. Students spend the week attending lectures and working on projects in the Institute laboratories.

Applying to the Institute

Before becoming an optics or optical engineering major, students must first apply to the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Once enrolled, you’ll formally declare your major during your sophomore year, officially joining the Institute!

First-Years

First-year students can apply online for early or regular decision using either the Common Application or the Coalition for College Application.

Transfers

Students can apply to transfer to the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Science in both the fall and spring semesters, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Prospective international students who are not US citizens or permanent residents may have additional requirements when applying.
