What Is Electrical and Computer Engineering?
Our program combines electrical engineering (using electricity, electronics and electromagnetism in product development, design and innovations) with computer engineering (the development of computer hardware and software).
We strive to develop within our graduates a basic foundation of knowledge in seven fundamental areas of electrical and computer engineering:
- Circuits and systems
- Electromagnetics
- Robotics
- Microelectronics
- Digital systems
- Computer architecture
- Signals and communications
Specializations
The flexibility of our undergraduate program also permits specialization in signals and communications; solid-state devices and microelectronics; computer engineering; robotics; and electromagnetic fields, waves, and devices.
