Overview

Kevin J. Parker, the University of Rochester William F. May Professor of Engineering, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Radiology is photographed in his lab in Hopeman Hall.


The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering consists of 33 professors many of whom hold joint appointments in diverse departments such as biomedical engineering, physics, dermatology, optics, computer science, Laboratory for Laser Energetics, and the Eastman School of Music.

Approximately 130 undergraduate students and 150 graduate students are in the program.

In addition, five adjunct professors, lecturers and visiting professors teach various courses, and approximately ten research scientists and post-doctoral scientists carry out advanced research. Thirteen staff members provide department support.

  • Identify areas for improvement with respect to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Define specific goals for improving these areas
