gina-aceaward.jpgGina Eagan, Student Programs Assistant with BME, recently won an ACE staff award. ACE awards honor AS&E staff who exemplify the University’s deep commitment to Meliora (ever better!). Embedded in that ideal are the values we share: equity, leadership, integrity, openness, respect, and accountability. Awardees are nominated by faculty, staff, or students and the winners are chosen on the first of each month by the Dean of the Faculty.

Gina joined the BME team in May 2022, and has been with the University for over 13 years.  She was nominated by Victoria Herberling, Graduate Coordinator for the Chemical Engineering Department, who said:

"Gina goes out of her way to help!  She recently left Materials Science and joined BME but has taken extra time to help the new coordinator in Material Science.  It is a complicated job to learn, and when I started as a graduate coordinator in Chemical Engineering, I would have been lost without Gina's help. Recently, when a former student of Gina's was having a hard time and was reluctant to talk about it, Gina did not hesitate to reach out to the student and open up a line of communication. Even when finding time to help others, Gina's own work is always top notch."

BME faculty and staff agree that Gina is a very deserving of this award, adding the following sentiments:

McAleavey"I am so happy to see Gina's energy and enthusiasm recognized with the ACE Staff award. In addition to being super proactive and dedicated, she is a delightful colleague and a joy to work with."
~ Professor Stephen McAleavey, Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering
