p1020607.jpgThe BME 101 annual poster session took place on Friday, December 8, 2023. This annual event provides a platform for undergraduate students in Professor Edward Brown's BME 101 course (Introduction to Biomedical Engineering) to team up and explore a topic in biomedical engineering that interests them.

Teams are responsible for crafting a poster describing their chosen topic and need to present with some technical analysis. At the semester's culmination, their work is showcased to the BME faculty and student body. This event is an excellent avenue for students to delve into the multi-disciplinary field of biomedical engineering and exhibit their academic capabilities. Topics include biomechanics, cell and tissue engineering, biosignals, biosystems, bioinstrumentation, medical imaging, medical optics, and bioethics.

Prizes were given to the top 5 posters

Five teams are selected by a panel of BME 101 alumni as “Excellent Poster Prize” winners and are awarded their prizes at the end of the event.

The 2023 prizewinners were:

  • Noah Paradise and Andrew Labick
  • Paula Lopez Fagundez Briseño and Syed Seemal Zahra
  • Francesca Hoekzema and Yvonne Fong
  • Sofia Mianzo and Katelyn Wade
  • Megan Cahall and McKenzie McDonald

Congratulations to all!bme101-collage-wqr.jpg
