BME Welcomes the Class of 2029 with Ice Cream Social

The Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Rochester warmly welcomed its incoming first-year students with an Ice Cream Social on Friday, September 5, 2025. Hosted by the University’s student chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), the event was designed to greet and celebrate the Class of 2029 as they began their academic journey.
Held in the Goergen Munnerlyn Atrium, the social event created a relaxed and welcoming environment for students to engage with peers and faculty alike. Several BME faculty members donned aprons and served up scoops of ice cream, adding a personal and lighthearted touch to the gathering.
The event provided new students with a chance to connect with one another, ask questions, and begin building relationships within the department in a casual, friendly setting that reflected the strong sense of community at Rochester BME.
