UR-Cornell partnership seeks to bridge diverse approaches to data science
Vast datasets are now being generated from a variety of sensing systems i, including brain monitoring and imaging devices, global positioning systems (GPS), radio-frequency identification (RFID) sensors, medical devices, emergency systems, and energy systems—each providing rich information about unexplored aspects of the modern world.
Cetin: ‘We have a huge opportunity here’ in data science
Mujdat Cetin will become the next Robin and Tim Wentworth Director of the Goergen Institute for Data Science (GIDS) at the University of Rochester. The appointment is effective July 1, pending approval of the University Board of Trustees.

Companies, academic researchers, and non-profit organizations can find solutions for their data problems by sponsoring student practicum projects through the Goergen Institute for Data Science (GIDS) at the University of Rochester.
