STEMFORALL Summer Research Program

Interested in getting involved with undergraduate research in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or data science but unsure of how or where to start? Join STEMFORALL this summer and immerse yourself in a two-week program consisting of informational lectures and supervised projects. Learn what it means to be a researcher and how to become one.

Program Structure
The program consists of supervised research projects and a series of lectures designed to help you gain the skills you need for your projects. The exact topics of the lecture series will be determined and announced in the coming weeks. Previous and/or possible lecture topics include:
- Number theory
- Probability
- Algebra
- Python
Exact topics for the research projects will be selected based on your interests and preferences. Previous and/or possible topics include:
- Buffon needle problems
- Erdos problems
- VC dimensions
- Sales models with economic indicators
- Discrete neural networks
- Modeling and predicting seizures
- Graph theory and optimization
- Math education
Prior background reading and/or small assignments (such as Jupyter notebooks) will be distributed prior to the program start so that you can hit the ground running. The program culminates in a final group presentation at the end of the session.
