Biography
Cantay Çalışkan is an associate professor of instruction at the Goergen Institute for Data Science, University of Rochester. He studied political science, computer science, and statistics during his PhD and received his degree from Boston University in 2018. Cantay received his BA from Brandeis University and his MA from Koç University.
Cantay's teaching portfolio includes various courses such as Data Mining, Statistical Machine Learning, and the Data Science Capstone in the undergraduate and graduate data science curriculum. His research interests include computational social science, computer vision, generative AI, NLP, network analysis, and applications of deep learning and machine learning in quantitative social sciences.
