Rochester ECE students recognized in the Acoustical Society of America’s Student Challenge Problem in Acoustic Signal Processing

Sahar Hashemgeloogerdi, a Rochester ECE Ph.D. student, was awarded third place in the Acoustical Society of America’s International Student Challenge Problem in Acoustic Signal Processing.  Sarah Smith and Michael Heilemann, also Ph.D. Students in ECE, were recognized as finalists in the competition.  The ASA International Student Challenge Problem program reflects the society's commitment to educating the new generation of acoustic scientists and engineers, and was conceived to “give students the opportunity to distinguish themselves by solving a challenging problem in acoustic signal processing.”  Congratulations Sahar, Sarah and Michael!
